An enduring legacy
30 years strong.
As we celebrate our 30th anniversary as a family-owned and operated winery, we’re honoring the past while boldly stepping into the future, crafting wines that tell the next generation of Walla Walla stories.
We’re privileged to work with some of Washington State’s most celebrated sites, each contributing its own distinctive voice to our wines and embodying the very best of what our region can achieve.
It takes a village
our vineyard partners.
From century-old farming families to pioneering viticulturists, these passionate growers don’t just tend vines – they nurture the very soul of Washington wine, and we’re honored to transform their exceptional fruit into wines that tell their stories.

A Crown Jewel of Walla Walla Valley
We’re incredibly proud to partner with Seven Hills Vineyard, where the remarkable terroir of Walla Walla Valley comes alive. Several of our most treasured wines including our Bello Rosso, Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon and Walla Walla Merlot begin their journey in these historic rows, originally planted by the McClellan family in the early 1980’s, and later purchased and expanded by Norm McKibben, Gary Figgins, and Marty Clubb.
The Details
What makes wines from Seven Hills sing? It starts with those incredible wind-blown glacial loess soils – Ellisforde silt loam in the lower blocks, Walla Walla silt loam in the higher reaches. Perched between 900- and 1,100-feet elevation, the vines experience the temperature shifts that Walla Walla is known for, and create wines of both power and finesse. These well-draining, nutrient-poor soils coax incredible concentration from every cluster, while minimal rainfall (just 6-8 inches annually) develops depth and complexity in each berry.
Sustainability
This Salmon-Safe certified vineyard has earned its place among Wine & Spirits Magazine’s “Ten Great Vineyards of the World.” With each vintage we craft from these rows, we’re not just making wine – we’re sharing a piece of Walla Walla history, and we couldn’t be more honored to bring these exceptional wines to your table.

A Living Legacy of Washington Wine
We feel incredibly fortunate to work with Bacchus Vineyard’s original 1972 Cabernet Sauvignon plantings – a rare treasure in Washington wine. These 50-year-old vines arepart of the largest collection of old-vine fruit in the state and stand proud in the White Bluffs AVA, overlooking the mighty Columbia River and Rattlesnake Mountain.
The Vines
Rising from 550 to 900 feet in elevation, these gentle slopes create perfect conditions for even ripening, while the soft rolling knolls ensure excellent air drainage and optimal warmth. With each vintage, these deep-rooted veterans produce Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc of remarkable depth and complexity. These aren’t just grapevines. They are the very roots of Washington wine history, and we’re honored to share their story through our wines.

The Soul of the Blue Mountains
We’re privileged to source fruit from Les Collines Vineyard, where the foothills of the Blue Mountains cradle some of Washington’s most expressive vines. Rising from 1,140 to 1,370 feet, this special place gives us fruit that speaks clearly of its origin – including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and the vibrant Sauvignon Blanc that brings such energy and life to our portfolio.
Soil
The magic lies in those ancient soils – mostly silt loam resting on prehistoric gravel beds, a gift from ancient glaciers that provides both perfect drainage and rich nutrients. This LIVE certified sustainable vineyard’s gentle western slope and thoughtful farming practices translate into wines of remarkable depth and distinction. Like us, Les Collines believes in being a careful steward of this remarkable land, making it a perfect partner in our pursuit of wines that capture the soul of Walla Walla Valley.
The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater stands alone as the only American Viticultural Area defined by a single soil series and landform – a remarkable landscape where ancient basalt cobblestones, tumbled smooth by the Walla Walla River millions of years ago, mirror the iconic terroir of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Our Newest Planting in...
THe rocks district
We began our story here in 2024, planting 4 acres to Cabernet Franc, carefully chosen to express the singular character of this extraordinary place.
Our property, situated near the northern extent of the appellation, showcases the region’s distinctive pattern of varying rockiness – some areas densely cobbled, others offering pockets of deeper soil.
We invite you to join us on this journey of discovery as we learn to translate the voice of these ancient stones into wines that honor both place and tradition.

Adding to our site’s unique character are our senior water rights from the historic Hudson Bay Company canal, a testament to the region’s rich agricultural heritage.
Before planting our remaining acreage, we’re taking time to understand and nurture this special ground. Our comprehensive soil management program includes rotating cover crops that have shown remarkable vigor, reaching heights of six feet. This attentive cultivation helps restore soil health, enhance porosity, and naturally balance the higher nitrogen levels typical of the region’s agricultural past.
Into the Future
As part of a forward-thinking community of 33 producers who tend 640 acres of established vineyards in The Rocks District, we’re learning to capture the distinctive characteristics that make this region’s wines so compelling – their signature savory notes, subtle salinity, and profound umami qualities that emerge from these cobbled soils. Looking ahead, we’re exploring the potential for Rhône varieties and possibly our beloved Sangiovese, letting the land guide our choices as we discover what makes our corner of this remarkable AVA unique.
The story of The Rocks District is still being written, and we’re thrilled to be contributing our own chapter, one thoughtful decision at a time.

Our vines sink their roots deep into rich Walla Walla Silt Loam soil, where they’re naturally sustained by 18-22 inches of annual rainfall. While we proudly dry farm most of our estate, we’ve mastered the art of strategic irrigation. Our vines grow more vigorously than their neighbors in other parts of the Valley, so timing is everything. While others begin watering in April, we hold off until June or July, if at all. This patience prevents canopy explosion and helps us maintain the perfect balance for quality fruit.
The Details
Our elevation is our secret weapon. It gives us a slightly later start to the growing season, naturally protecting us from spring frosts, while our carefully placed wind machines guard against temperature inversions that can affect lower-lying vineyards in fall. This extended season means we’re often the last in the Valley to harvest each variety, allowing our fruit to develop deep complexity while maintaining freshness.
The estate showcases thoughtfully selected varietals: 5.5 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon (Clones 4, 6, and 191), 1.81 acres of Merlot Clone 15, 1.45 acres of Sangiovese VCR 6, and 2 acres of Syrah (split between Joseph Phelps and Tablas Creek clones). A small but mighty 0.1-acre block of Viognier provides the perfect complement for co-fermentation with our Syrah.
Estate Wines
Every bottle from Cut Bank Estate captures this special place – concentrated fruit from our smaller-than-average berries creates wines with striking color and structured tannins. But what truly sets them apart is their beautiful balance: sweet fruit aromas dancing with savory herbs, power harmonizing with elegance. It’s everything we love about Walla Walla in a glass and we’re proud to call it our vineyard home.
