White Bluffs AVA
The White Bluffs AVA was only officially recognized in 2021, but this unique micro-terroir within the Columbia Valley AVA was first planted with wine grapes in 1972 by Sagemoor Vineyard.
With a stunning view to the southwest overlooking the mighty Columbia River and the Rattlesnake Mountains, Sagemoor sits between 400-860 feet. Combined with fine, loamy soil, Sagemoor creates a perfect growing environment.
We’ve long sourced fruit from Sagemoor for our premium red wines, but this is only our second vintage of Sauvignon Blanc from this revered site. In 2021 we intentionally left more leaves on the vineyard canopy to moderate ripening and encourage leanness. We whole cluster pressed the grapes and fermented in a combination of neutral oak and stainless steel to achieve our desired balance.
